About Amery
Amery is a city of lakes. Its downtown lies on an isthmus between the Apple River and Pike,
North Twin and South Twin Lakes, Bear Trap and Wapogassett Lakes are nearby.
All Seasons Fun
Whether your merriment be hiking, picnicing, tennis, softball, basketball, horseshoes, archery, skateboarding
and trap shooting, Amery's seven city parks provide endless activity for all ages. D.D. Kennedy Environmental
Center is natures treasure of families, and is handicap accessible. Enjoy special events, horseback riding,
movies, and bowling. The 18-hole golf course overlooking South Twin Lake is one of the most beautiful anywhere
is western Wisconsin.
The head of the Cattail Trail is located on the Apple River at Amery, inviting you for ATV trips and bicycling.
In the winter, the Cattail Trail is one of many well-groomed snowmobile trails. Cross-country skiing and ice fishing
are also among the top winter activities in Amery. During the Balsam Vinter Fest, kids and adults take part in
2k, 10k, or 20k cross-country races.
The Arts
Amery is one of three Wisconsin communities included in the book The 100 Best Small Art Towns In America.
Northern Lakes Center for the Arts brings in national writers and performers in addition to featuring local
artists and performers. Amery has one of the state's best community-education programs, hosting international
performers and regional events. Amery churches also present the annual Gospel Fest with top Midwest performers.
Fine Shopping and Eating
From restaurants features in the book Cafe Wisconsin to main-street cafes, from breakfast specials to fish-fry
feeds - as on visitor said, "Your can't get a bad meal in Amery." Tourists often join residents in a never-ending
calendar of church suppers and bake sales, with home cooking to match any in the Midwest.
Shopping is first class on Main street and at RiverPlace Mall. Amery's farmer's Market is an unbeatable source for
Wisconsin's finest produce.
